The GOTY was pretty much assured since 11-11-11, not surpised when I heard the announcement.

I don't even want to call it "fully functional" on pc either, sadly.

I almost agree, but I can't quite say it's terrible UI and controls make it not functional.

Yea, definitely not Goty for me. Played it for about 50~100 hours then got easily bored.
The quests are soooo blaaaand.

Funny how the series won 'GOTY' multiple times yet CoD is still more popular >:D
I blame the fact that theres no Multiplayer in Elder Scrolls.

And I thank Bethesda that there is no multiplayer. Don't need to hear random kids or stoners making noise pollution and complaining every time they die that someone cheated.

I'm on PS3 and it works fine after the patch. My only real issue was the lag and that was solved for me so yeah, GOTY

Unless PS3 is the only platform for Skyrim, it doesn't matter a jot how Skyrim plays on one. All that matters is how well it plays on the platform where it plays best.

Well, it is certainly not "fully" functional on PC given all the (I assume) bugs with keybindings and mouse/keyboard support. It's not completely non-functional, no, but certainly not something I would be particularly proud of if I was Bethesda. This is pretty basic stuff here they completely botched.

The UI being terrible I would consider another issue all together.

Yes, I have been having problems too and I am on a PC. It would take a lot space to explain all of the constant glitches that I am running into. And, yes! I get really pissy about it at times. That's because I get so engrossed in the game that I forget to save and then the stupid game crashes to the desktop--more so when I try to fast travel, but often too, when I go through certain doors in certain cities and villages. One of the biggest issues are the textures which are still not loading properly. A little while ago I went through the gate in Whiterun and my character came out on the other side invisible except for her sword, her ring, and her necklace. Lydia's armor was a solid purplish pink color. Some of the NPC's had no faces or hands. Still, after I cursed it, I exited the game and came back in to find everything working again. And, I can tell you that often times this will occur at the start of a game --at the very beginning of play. But, as I piss-and-moan I continue to play. I could go on and on, but you get the idea, right?

Dead Island should be the clear winner.

Definite GOTY, would be horribly disappointed if it didn't win because some whinners want to blame Beth for the PS3 problems when it's really Sony's fault to begin with.

you sir, are an idiot.

Beth are just terrible at porting their games to the PS3, as evident from several of their previous releases. If they know they couldn't port it right and it would lead to a broken game, just don't release it on the PS3. Simple.

The PS3 hardware has been the same for years now, if they still haven't familiarised themselves with it, just give up already instead of just trying to steal as much money as possible.

I don't think games that squeek out at the end of the year should be eligible for "Game of The Year." Just my opinion, in the same way that a movie that comes out in January shouldn't be called "The Movie of The Year!"

Strange thing this...Skyrim could murder your whole family and still be crowned GOTY.

I guess people are too in love with the ideal than the practical reality.

There is already an active VGA awards / GOTY discussion topic.

If you have specific technical problems, use the appropriate PS3, PC or Xbox 360 tech support section of the forum.
