Most over used phrase in TES?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 1:03 am

No specific one, but I hate how a lot of NPCs approach me and say stuff like "stop bothering me" or "i'm busy right now" or anything else to show me they don't want to deal with me right now. THEN WHY DO YOU EVEN TALK TO ME?! I could understand if I was trying to conversate with them, but I'm just standing there or talking to someone else.

This, more than anything.

"I work in (store), blah blah" as I'm running by. I tried to imagine doing this in RL, screaming, "I work for (company)" at people as they pass me. I'd have the cops on me.

"Don't bother me now, I'm busy." I'M NOT BOTHERING YOU. I am walking past you. Good god, man

everyone in whiterun seems really obnoxious, snark cloud city guy, angry little girl, crazy talos priest, various market workers, all of them say the most annoying things. Maybe i spend too much time in whiterun.

Any way i hardly ever hear the arrow to the knee guard comment, they mostly whine about me releasing dragons. I also think the ordinators from vivec had the most overused line from all of them

"I thought adventurers were supposed to look tough," sometimes followed by, "I bet my dad could beat you up."

I swear, I just want to take out my greatsword and toss it at these kids sometimes... see if they can hold it up, then push them over, take it back and kick them across the ground saying, "I though adventurers were supposed to look tough, wahh wahh wahh, I thought arogant annoying ass kids who think they're tougher were suppose to be tough, wahh wahh wahh, you think your dad can take me? I don't see him trying, wahh wahh wahh, STOP CRYING!!!"

Its really too bad you can't kill children in this game... sometimes you just really REALLY want to.

The hunters, it's gotta be the hunters. They always say one of two things, "Been huntin and fishin these woods for years," or, "My poaching ain't hurting anyone. The jarl can hardly eat all the deer."

You mean inside or outside the games?

Inside, it'd probably be "Thank you for your patronage", a timeless classic by Tamrielic merchants.

Outside, it's obviously the arrow thing. Not suprising that it's a meme, given that Skyrim's audience is absolutely huge, compared to Morrowind's miniscule and Oblivion's respectable followings. TES has gone mainstream, and thus so has its quirks.
