I just got the Krosis mask awhile back and I really want to get the Ancient Shrouded Cowl just to pair them up. The problem is, I haven't done or engaged in any Dark Brotherhood activity yet since I plan on finishing the Thieves guild first. My question is, can I go straight to Hags End, receive the armor without any negative in-game consequences be it when I get it or in the future, without going through the Dark Brotherhood quest line? The ancient shrouded armour is sort of a spin-off miscellaneous object. It has nothing to do with the main Dark Brotherhood questline. If it appears before you get the objective, then yes, you should be able to go and fetch it without any consequences.

I tried doing it that way once but the lever to open the secret door way wasn't there.
