Fix the Level Scaling

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 12:54 am

Please sort this out, the game is completely spoiled because of this. Everytime I make some progress I come across some ridiculously overpowered mob that forces me to lower the difficulty to novice in order to get past. This is no way to design or play a game IMO: mobs that take barely 2 points of damage from any attack regardless how powerful, seem immune to any effect including shouts, and can dish out so much damage they are abel to kill you in 2 hits or less. This is patently ridiculous, you've screwed up what is otherwise a great game. Come on guys, get this sorted.

People complain it's too easy, too hard, etc. It's all about how "YOU" play. You need a strategy to succeed in Skyrim.

Illusion and sneak. Enchanting and Smithing. Conjuring and Restoration. Destruction and Alteration. Just pick you a strategy man. Avoid all Briar heart attacks, Use shouts to defeat powerful vampires. You can get Full power unrelenting force and blow anything away. Right at lvl 5 or so.

Just imagine how boring the game would be if they got rid of dynamic leveling.

It would be more boring than Morrowind, which is one of the most boring games I ever played.

Honestly at first I was having this problem. After a while you'll be playing on master with no problems. Believe me you wish it was hard again. That's easy to fix though. Just don't use all the best stuff. I love the challenge. I once fought a dragon priest for 45 minutes. I love every minute of it.

Also like stated above its really how you play. It can be easy and it can be hard. You need to focus on the sweet spot right in middle. You'll find it.

Only problem i have on Master = DRAGONS -.-
Thief with daggers and bow (archery not leveled) = Pain :(

I only use archery to lure the enemies away or shoot dragons.
That's why it's not leveled.
That's how i want to play it ^^

that makes no sense. my character is levelled and equipped. I have 70 in archery with most of the perks for starters. I have a damn good bow and arrows and can one shot most things. The difference betweent hese mobs and the rest is the problem.

then you should have made it clearer in your post, something like "in a dungeon. all the mobs are weak but the boss is incredibly ridiculously hard".
Anyway if you were making that point i agree, most of the times when im dungeoning the normal mobs are either easy or average, then the boss would be some uber superman guy :banghead:

I'm fairly confident that's far from a unanimous opinion. Morrowind was far from boring when I played it.

I'm playing a game right now where I decided I'm not using perks (bar the decapitation ones - I relented because I love a good decapitation), and let me tell you... it's not an easy game. Level 25 and a sabre-cat can make mincemeat of me.

To me, that depends on whether the boss and other guys are related--whether it's spiders and then some powerful undead guy or whether it's bandits and a bandit chief.

Stealth, Archery, Illusion, Smithing, Enchanting — explode the entire game into jellied chunks on Master difficulty without even trying.

Lockpicking, Speech, Pickpocket, Destruction, Block — the way true Nords play Skyrim.

I died by a Sabrecat today before I even could see what it was. It was then I decided a mage probably wouldn't just run around rocky terrain and would have a horse.

I think it's generally fine. I like being able to meet mobs so hard I have to run. Doesn't happen too often anyway. It's boring being able to kill everything with ease.

Made what clearer? You assumed that I was running around wearing no armour and using no weapons and not upgrading my characters skills/perks or equipment? That wasn't smart!
