It is for IG. There are dozens upon dozens of GOTY awards going out, and it's predictable that every game of note will at least get one.

Inside Gaming called it their GOTY, there's no official one.

There are loads of GOTY awards given out by different people (it's got to the point where GOTY doesn't actually mean that much because there are hundreds of them), of course Skyrim is going to scoop some of them.

It's not like the Oscars where there is just one award for each category given by one organisation.

I'm sure Skyrim will get multiple GotY awards, so will many other games.

Glad to hear the good news. Hopefully that means a cool GOTY version will be released some time

GOTY does not really mean all that much tbh. Multiple sites and media outlets all call about 20 different games GOTY by the end of the year lol.

Spike VGA's are about to be on in ONE HOUR from now (8e).

They will more then likely announce the GotY.. and if I'd believe anybody it'd be an ACTUAL awards show.. lol.

I know I'll be watching to see who Wins!

There are a few big ones like G4 and the Spike VGAs that are hyped as being the official ones, but all it really means is they're expensive to produce.

GotY has always been a pointless reward; you can't be the game of the year if there are 7 games being handed GotY. The only thing GotY means to me is that I would get to pay $60 to buy the game with the DLC rather than around $100 for the game and DLC.

Bethesda should'nt deserve the GOTY ! Not until they fix the game properly in ALL the hardwares ( Xbox360 , pc and ps3 ( mostly ps3 cause of a lot of bugs and glitches and who know what is in there ))
