Well the tallest ones at the western reach (border to skyim) are the highest, at 20,000 i think, cant remember exactly

Well, At least to my knowledge, Someone needs to place the grass in the exteriors for them to appear at all. Vality used some sort of automatic method , but then had to go back in and fix many cells by hand. I didn't really mean develop your own methods for grass, I meant will you try to place grass in an optional plugin so that it appears for those of us who use it. I know that no one has released a plugin to add vality's grass to solstheim yet, and it makes visiting it much less enjoyable compared to the main landmass and TR. Perhaps after Skyrim, or whatever is finished first, is done you could convince Vality to help?

P.S. Didn't Vality have some skrim project as well? I realize his presence here has decreased considerably, but maybe you guys could share some of your resources and vice-versa.


Ah then in that case I'd be willing to bet that grass will end up being inluded, I'll do it myself if no one else does. I really wasn't the best person to answer your question anyway... I actually had little to no real knowledge on the subject lol.

It's simply a case of texturing the landmass, and using Yacoby's mesh generator, which adds grass to the plugin in a separate plugin.

EDIT: It's not always as simple as that mind you :facepalm:

Personally, I would rather not include grass up front (in the main file) as this may cause people to have graphical inconsistencies in their games (not using grass in Morrowind for example). Granted, things as popular as grass should certainly be included as add-on ESPs by my book, as this will open the project up to even more players in the long run. Of course, that can also mean extra work, but considering to get the whole continent we are already looking at a metric butt ton of work, I don't see the issue :)

hmmmmm

So whats being worked on atm? I am shelving Hammerfell untill more resources become avalible and people on board.

For now iam just floating about willing to help on any of the other sections being worked on. If we can do a combined effort on one province ( for now ) it could speed the proccess up.

At the minute, Skyrim is being worked on. My work on Falkreath is still ongoing.

As for the rest of the project, I am working on making heightmaps for High Rock, Hammerfell, Summerset Isle, Elsweyr and Valenwood. DC is actually working on making the Hammerfell height map.

At the minute I have a slight problem not being able to generate random meshes over that land, such as grass, tree's and rocks. Some weird stuff happens with the region painter when importing maps, and i believe that may be stopping it from working, that or the area is just far too big for the mesh generator to cope with.

EDIT: Are all the moderators asleep? :P
