Playable?

Is this game playable yet? I tried on 3 separate occasions to finish this game, but between the bugs, freezing, and shut downs, I gave up.

I guess I just have bad luck, I got everything from losing companions to game constantly freezing to being unable to finish a quest. Guess it is time to try again and see how it turns out.

never had a single bug, but maybe a freeze a few times, but that never bothered me. However I will always get the bug with Veronica, a potentially badass companion, yet her perks don't work or just assigned in the worst skills ever. ugh.

As a proud owner of the PC version I've only had the occasional crash... The latest patch introduced some load screen freezes but a community fix dealt with that. Or at least I think it did, haven't seen it since I took that latest big pack everyone was talking about..

I bought it on 360 first day it came out and played it unpatched, back when everyone was freaking out, and had very little trouble. Since all the patches no problems at all. I just had trouble getting interested in the actual events and ended up selling the game (after spending all that money on DLC's and only playing them once. Fail. LOL)

I have had more crashes then I would have like! This includes two hard crash that required reboot of the system. As for game bugs there are a few. Example are arms from the dead floating in the air or AI characters get stuck. The best recently was I saw the NCR by the Broc Cave and just thought it was one of the lone wanders, that was proven wrong. Caesars assassins attacked and couple more NCR troops came out and attack the assassins. The original I saw just stood there and got hacked and slashed. Bug free game no! (PC version.)

on PS3 no. Patch 1.07 made it freeze very often. If you don't install the patch then its playable

There are bugs but I've never experienced a game-breaking bug. So yeah, you can easily play through game and do almost every quest, but there will be the occasional frame rate drop or crash.

Well no game ever has been bug free, so technically no there will be a bug, but I have gone through it a few times with only minor bugs.

Week one on the PC was nearly unplayable. Now my the answer to the title question is definitely yes, my answer to the poll is no. I'm on the PC and I have never gotten through a single playthrough without a bug, nothing major though. Some minor bugs happen like Johnson Nash won't go into the Mojave Express office so you can't trade with him or your companion ends up losing all of the weapons they were carrying. These aren't really an issue on the PC since console commands clears it all up. It is still an amazing game and definitely worth your time.

Depends on if you're playing on PC or PS3/Xbox. PC version is (apart from the random NPC clipping through objects which isn't a big deal) bug-free, and bugs are either isolated issues or a result of mods. PS3/Xbox is for the most part bug free, but a few small issue remain.

depends on what system. I play on the ps3 and have not been able to finish this game since vanilla. Every character I create has run into crushing lag later on in the game, resulting in me abandoning the character and trying something new. :shakehead:

Yes it's possible... but you probably need to know what the bugs are and what to avoid. The game's playable enough, the worst thing is the occasional CTDs.
