Introducing my three new RP characters

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 7:00 pm

I just though after all the work I put into brainstorming these characters I would share them for your enjoyment. I'm playing on XBOX 360 right now so no pictures.

RP Rules: Master Difficulty, No Potions/Scrolls/Eating during combat, No fast travel (Carriages OK), No min/maxing, Stay in character

Restricted Skills: Archery, Enchanting, Speech, Lockpicking, Light Armor
Not Used Skills: Two-Handed, Alteration, Destruction, Conjuration, Illusion, Sneak, Pickpocket, Alchemy
Factions: Main Quest, Civil War (Stormcloaks), Companions
Follower Type: Archer/Two-hander OR Mage/Archer
Combat Mentality: “Have a little dignity.”
Loot Mentality: “If it’s useful take it…if not meh.”
Quest Mentality: “I mind my own business (I don’t actively seek outside work), but if you ask for help I can’t help myself.” AND “I have important things to do so I do them.” (Focuses on Faction related questing)
Hoards: “Memories (trophies), materials (for crafting), and… sell the rest!”
Notes: Cooks “Never go into a fight hungry!”

Name: Desh
Race: Altmer

Not Used Skills: One-handed, Heavy Armor, Light Armor, Sneak, Pickpocket, Alchemy
Factions: College of Winterhold, Daedric Shrine Quest
Follower Type: Melee if possible
Combat Mentality: “I could just kill you, but where’s the fun in that?”
Loot Mentality: “Will it make me rich OR powerful? Yes… Then I’ll take two!”
Quest Mentality: “Soak up all the knowledge the College has to offer, then go shrine hunting…if a few powerful items distract me at times that’s cool.” (College first, Shrines second, and anything that might lead to a powerful item is ok with me too)
Hoards: “Knowledge (books), power, and souls! Oh… and materials for crafting.”
Notes: Can fast travel to College of Winterhold.

Name: Dar’J (Clever Bachelor)
Race: Khajiit
six: Male
Main Skills: Sneak, Pickpocket, Alchemy, Light Armor, Marksman
Restricted Skills: Lockpicking, Speech, Illusion, Alteration, Restoration, One-Handed, Smithing
Not Used Skills: Conjuration, Destruction, Enchanting, Two-handed, Heavy Armor, Block
Factions: Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood
Combat Mentality: “Khajiit no see combat… or was it khajiit that wasn’t seen?”
Follower Type: “Khajiit needs more bags… Oh look you have bags! Wait here.”
Loot Mentality: “Khajiit see, Khajiit like, khajiit take.” *Tag added “Stolen”* “Khajiit wants to taste… *Eats, random effect happens* Khajiit needs more for potions.”
Quest Mentality: “Khajiit do for the Guild/Brotherhood… or for coin.” AND “Khajiit help for coin… you do have coin no?
Hoards: “Khajiit no understand why you don’t just sell it.” AND “Khajiit make it worth more THEN Khajiit sell it.”
Notes: Find thieves guild, join thieves guild, visit the college to brush up/find a friend, and return to the guild for work. Only after you run out of work should you bother to track down the brotherhood.

I agree anyways I like the Dar’J out of the most of them but I am kind of upset that you made non with Wanting to be Undead by the way All of them seem nicely Build.

I'm interested, but those characters comprise the 3 basic archetypes: warrior, mage, rogue. They are not very original, and you didn't include a background story so there isn't much to comment on :(.

I though I would focus on covering every play style while giving myself a chance to regularly play each character. Where you see unoriginal archetypes like warrior, mage, and rogue...I see so much more. To each his own I guess, but thanks for taking the time to check it out anyways.

Good job, TC. They sound like fun characters.

I do the same in planning out characters with backstories. I always try to connect them to Cyrodiil and the Oblivion Crisis in their stories.

I just started an Altmer Mage that is mostly just about himself. He follows certain Mage traditions, like no swords, shields, or Armor. He's into Alchemy and Enchanting.

HOWEVER...it's his attitude and style that define him, and make him so much fun to play even though he's "boxed in" to the classic Mage archetype. He worships Talos now because he was Cured of Sanguinare Vampiris at the Whiterun shrine. He doesn't pick fights, but will take on anyone that challenges or threatens him. He does have a stuck-up attitude because of his heritage, yet he'll help people...if it's worth his while. He respects all things natural and Magical, and preserves nature by only harvesting the ingredients he needs. His replies are always smug, boastful, and condescending, unless he has to charm his way into something. So on and so forth.

Roleplaying the character allows for so much diversity every playthrough. It doesn't matter if you're the stereotypical Greatsword wielding, mead drinking, Steel Plate wearing, mindless Nord. It's how you feel about them and how you view them as they traverse the land and it's inhabitants that adds richness to your own narrative and experience.

I would've found this interesting but there's no back story and the characters are based on the basic character classes so there's no originality.

Yeah so far they are all fun, and the RPing makes everything more interesting.

I like the sound of your altmer the Talos worshiping thing sounds cool, and I fully agree with your take on roleplaying the characters.
