So I just got screwed out of finishing the Companions quest

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 6:36 pm

To advance further in the Companions quest line, I have to intimidate "Eris". Oh but whats this? She is inside a ship called the Red Wave. She never comes out of the ship. When I go in and try to initiate dialogue so I can smash her face in, all the says is "Your not supposed to be in here." Because I am trespassing in her ship apparently. You can attack her, but it doesn't count for the quest.

So, I know of no way to abandon a quest once you have it. When I talk to Farkas he just tells me "You already have a job, now get to it." None of the other leaders of the Companions will give me work because I have this [censored] bugged quest.

So, I have now sunk over 25 hours into this charachter. I guess it's start over or wait for the people at Bethesda to stop patting themselves on the back for thier "GOTY" and counting thier money and fix some damn major bugs. What a stupid waste.

Why don't you just go back at a time when you aren't trespassing? Like daytime.

The point is the target NPC is INSIDE the ship and she never comes out.

There are a bunch of bugs like this, I was bugged out of the Thieves Guild questline by a similar bug. You're not gonna be able to finish the questline most likely, unless it's fixed.

The Companion quest line was extremely borked for me too. But I play on PC so I was able to work around some of the bugs. Which platform are you playing on?

I assume you've already tried killing your target to force a quest failure?

I am on 360, my PC won't handle Skyrim very well I'm afraid.

You get a lot of choices in the Companions quests. Basically, if a quest-giver mentions Falmer, I tell him/her to find someone else.

I had something similar happening to me with the Thieves Guild quest. Early in the game I broke into Honningbrew Meadery. It was on the road between the first village and the first town you visit when you follow the main questline, and because I thought you could 'do what you want, whenever you want' I picked the lock. Just because I could.
Well, 30 hours later this botched me out of the 'Dampened Spirits' quest, so no Thieves Guild for me. Nice, huh?
You see, I can understand that with a game of this scope there will be a broken quest here or there. That's to be expected.

BUT AT LEAST GET THE GUILD QUESTS RIGHT!!!

Not being able to finish a guild quest because you broke into a house, which the game simply allows. Nice GOTY indeed...

**Companions Quest Spoilers**

I am having major issues with the Companions quest line, after i get back from wiping out the silver hands there is no funeral and i am not allowed to continue the final quest. I have loaded and tried it over and over and it still doesn't work. So I'm stuck being a werewolf forever. I was hoping that the new patch would fix this. Does anybody know how to get these patches for the 360? It's not available anywhere on xbox live. I would really really like help with this, I'm really hoping the new patch will help some of the numerous issues I'm having.

The joke is on you if you think GOTY is an actual indication of how good the game is. GOTY = how good the hype and commercials were/how many people know the IP.

See my sig for more details on my opinion on this...

The only person who gives quests relating to the storyline is Aela. Farkas doesn't.

Had the same problem. I reloading from when I exited the Silver Hand base and fast travelled back to Whiterun. Vilkas should tell you to attend the funeral and start running to the skyforge. Save often, because several quest triggers failed even after this!

What are you talking about? Farkas gives the brawl quest where you have to settle a dispute with some random person.

Not relevant if kurie726 is on a quest for Farkas it is not possible to accept a new one and thus the questline is broken for kurie726...On PC you can maybe drop or finish the quest via console (check UESP wiki) but else not a chance...
