Vault Boy for PSN Avy?!

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 9:36 pm

As I browse thru some psn avys (avatars in case you aren't keeping up) trying to follow up the xmas theme... it hit me "how is it that one of the most iconic gaming mascot of this generation hasn't even rumored to hit 1 of our psn tuesday updates??" that being said i decided to somehow help the cause & register to what seems to be the closest way for bethesda to hear our voice & make a request!! it's a win-win for everyone.. you guys keep the $$ while we enjoy our well worth avy.

So does anyone have some info on this??

btw i was new but then i took an arrow to the knee.

Welcome to the Forums!

And I agree with you completely.

I have wanted them to release a Vault Boy Avatar for a long time on the PS3 (I'm pretty sure Xbox already has it, damn Microsoft and their pointlessly flining money around to get things over PS3)...

There's a pip-boy theme for ps3 but I've never seen a vault-boy avatar. I guess it would be nice to have one but I really don't care that much about my psn avatar. I barely use psn in the first place due to my lack of online games.

For some reason Bethesda didn't really do anything as far as themes and avatars go (on PS3, I could care less about the other "console"). I would have loved to see a Dynamic theme with a Ranger w/ NV sign in the background and neon light XMB icons. There are Fallout 3 Pip-boy and BOS themes on PSN however, the Pip-boy one is kind of lame which is why I usually go on the interwebs (on the PS3) and find an image to use as a background. It looks better, and you still get the cool XMB icons.

Anyway, I doubt Bethesda would put out any NV extras out now, especially with Skyrim out. I'm still hoping for a Skyrim theme or Dovahkiin avatar, but for some reason Bethesda always holds out with PS3. The last thing Bethesda will probably associate with New Vegas is the Ultimate edition coming out in February.

Now that I'd like to see. The Pip-boy theme is bland, and I currently use a different background while still keeping the pip-boy XMB icons. A New Vegas theme would be much better than what I currently use.

Also, I searched "avys" to see if this was actually a common word for avatar since I've never heard it used before. And this is what I got as the second result on google: http://www.avys.av.org/

I was unaware that vault boy is one of the most iconic mascots of out generation... Well the 360 has had a vault boy costume since Fallout 3 came out, so I guess Sony doesn't care about fallout.

But I don't care really, because my picture, backround, and avatar are all halo. :)

I could give a lot of reasons why I am not a really devoted fan, but I'd rather not derail the topic.
