Is there any difference in how the short sword and daggers work? i know they're both leveled under the same skill but do they function differently? such as attack speed or something of the like?

Some of the daggers are a bit faster, and usually have less range than swords.
But the difference is minimal.

They are also a lot lighter, which one can carry a whole bunch as spare.
