Sorry for a retarted question but I'm trying to increase my Ebony armor to epic or flawless and I'm not sure how? When I try to work at the table there's a message on the top left of the screen that says I dont have the required skill to do this. But I have 100 smithing? So I'm not sure how to upgrade my armor? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is it Enchanted? If so, do you have the Arcane Smith perk?

You will need the correct perks to do so. The armor is probably enchanted, so you will need the Arcane Smithing perk to improve it.

You cant upgrade magical items without required perk in blacksmithing tree.

Thanks for the fast replies. No its not enchanted. Its regular Ebony Armor, I upgraded it to Legendary but cant get it past that. I have the required materials but it keeps saying I dont have the required skill? Also, I forgot to mention. Its saying I can increase my helmet to Epic, but nothing else.

I forgot to add. I have the Arcane smithing perk.

Legendary is the epitome of improvement. It can't go higher than Legendary.

Legendary is the final named upgrade, but you can continue to upgrade the armor/damage of your equipment with smithing levels over 100. You can use smithing armor enchantments and smithing potions to raise your smithing level over 100. - from the wiki
