I FINALLY GOT IT TO WORK

Post » Sat Oct 31, 2009 2:43 am

I had been having trouble of the game crashing at start up. And after countless forums and "trouble shooting guides" I downloaded the Brink Config tool

http://www.rush-zone.com/downloads/gaming/brink/brinkconfigv1.5/summary.html

I was messing around with the settings and turned my resolution down to 800 x 600 and started the game up. And boom. It worked. I have been wanting to play this since the day it launched....and was at the point of giving up all hope, but I'm hoping that this will help someone else out there who is having the same issue.

I'm glad it worked for you.
I don't know what this is though.
I also had problems and spent many many hours researching and i got it to work by having older Catalyst version.

Does your system use a strange native resolution or something? Seems weird that it was just a res problem.

You might be waiting a while on that authorization/approval. I doubt they've got time to spend with something like that. From what I understand though, it just edits your config files, so it shouldn't be a problem. I would think that at worst you might need to reinstall the game.

That program actually creates an Autoexec.cfg in your Brink base folder, so if there is indeed a screw up, you can either start the program back up and change back whatever you changed that caused the issues, click on the reset to defaults within the program or just delete the autoexec.cfg from the brink base folder and start fresh on the settings within the program.

It is a good tool and I approve of its use, :D
