TBH, I'm not sure why you're going shotguns and unarmed. Both cover pretty much the same niche (CQB) and unarmed is REALLY powerful (especially in VATS) if you take all the perks, so shotguns seem kinda redundant.

Silly you, this is why I choosed them both,if you take a better look at the build, you will see I covered all the perks from Unarmed and Shotguns, remembr that shotguns just have 2 perks, despite being the focus of the build, also shotgun is Mid-Range to Close-Range,while Unarmed is just Close-Range,also you will see in my build that it focus mainly in Vats and Crit chance,so lots of perks serve for almost everything, also remember that the new build also covers Energy Weapons, since I don't plan making a long answer for such a short comment,I will give you a short example,I have 15 Perks that benefit vats,5 that benefit shotgun,5 that benefit Unarmed and 5 that benefit Energy Weapons,so I can use them all,got it?

The best shotgun (riot shotgun) isn't a midrange weapon--it has awful spread which is why I said taking both unarmed and shotguns is redundant. If you're taking energy weapons, why not drop the shotgun perks and take the GRA tri-beam if you want a true mid-range weapon? It benefits more from better crit chance, does great DPS (both realtime and VATS) and has fewer problems with armor than the shotguns.

Another update,I mencione the perk pyromaniac thousand of times but in the build I didn't put,so I change the order from Nervers of Steel to level 38,and we now obtain Pyromaniac at level 26.

Say good bye to your crit damage and knockdown chance if you start using slugs which makes the shotgun strictly inferior to the tri-beam in pretty much every way.

Aaaaaaand we finally got to the point I wanted, even using Slug Rounds, the tri beam is still inferior when we look at the Riot Shotgun.
A Tri Beam Laser Rifle, with all the modfications and perks can reach a 335.2 DPS,while the superior riot shotgun can reach 442.7 DPS,funny no?
Also the Tri Beam Laser rifle can only use 3 types of Ammo, and their effect only vary on damage and CND,now you can easily say Max Charges make the Tri Beam Laser more powerful than the Riot Shotgun, but you are awesomely wrong, the dps will be higher, reaching something like 480,but the CND will decrease 2.5,this with the crappy Hp from the Tri Beam Laser will make it break after shoting 50 to 80 rounds,I would also like to remimd you that the Coin Shot Ammo from the Shotgun has a 1.3 damage multiplier, which makes the Riot Shotgun pack almost 600 DPS with it,funny right? The AP use for the Riot Shotgun is 5 points lower, meaning it can, with all the perks, shot over 10 shots in vats, and the variation of 12 Gauge Slugs make it's awesomeness to increase even more,Dragon Breath Shells do Fire Damage, the one that is increase by 50% when used with the Pyromaniac Perk,so on the 0.9 Damage Multiplier is transformed into a 1.45 Multiplier + Fire damage,Pulse Slugs also mean that robots and power armor aren't a problem anymore, where your tri beam Laser would probaly break before killing a Power Armor foe, also,Bean Bag Rounds are extremely useful when using REALLY powerful enemies,by simply knocking them down you can exterminate even the mighty legendary Deathclaw. The Tri Beam Laser Rifle is perfertly usable but weapons like Elijah's advanced LAER and YCS-186 easily outstand it when it comes for weapons using Microfusion Cells.

The in-game dps values are worthless as they don't properly take into account crits:

An absolutely maxed out crit build with optimized MFC will do ~552 dps with the GRA tri-beam:

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1250838-guns-vs-energy/page__view__findpost__p__19066133

The same build with the Riot SG with slugs will do ~280 dps (65 base + 5 crit damage on average x 4 attacks/sec).

It's not even close.

The wide variety of ammunition types available for the shotgun is a big plus, but using slugs in an attempt to make it a top tier mid-range weapon is doomed to failure. You use slugs because you want to punch through armor. If you really want better range there are many better options in energy (the tri-beam and LAER's being particular standouts).

Consider the Following:If you could just spend 3 minutes of your life reading the ENTIRE build, the Tri Beam Laser Rifle is Listed as a Usable Weapon,I know how energy weapons are extremely powerful,my last build was pure Energy Weapons Build, still I think that the LAER could reach higher DPS,and it has also lower ammo consuption,I will add all that DPS thing to the main Post,I can just use them both, they are suitable for different options, now instead of Slugs i'm going to use it until I get my hands into a Elijah's LAER.

Last time I did the calculation the fully modded LAER was roughly comparable to the tri-beam, but with much better accuracy and much worse reliability. The reliability is really the sticking point with the LAERs.

You have tons of perks/skill points by level 50, so it's hardly going to cripple you to spec into guns and get the shotgun perks. If you like shotguns go ahead and use them, the riot SG is an awesome CQB weapon by any metric. But so is the Fist of Rawr--I know that my unarmed/guns character never felt the need for a shotgun since anything within claw's reach explodes messily like something out of Fist of the North Star.

I could really just take out the 2 Shotgun Perks and make a non-Shotgun build, which would be probaly better, since I would still use shotgun since they are included in the Guns skill, still with which perks can I replace them is a great question, can you give me any idea?

If you're sticking with guns, hand loader is the only real must have, IMO. If you can hold out until the good energy weapons become available then it might be worthwhile to drop guns entirely and spec into explosives or a non-combat skill. Oh, and if you're using EW make sure to take vigilant recycler. Optimized cells are amazing.

Dropping guns totally would be better since the only guns I would use would be Anti Material Rifle and the Shotguns, that can be easily replaced with energy weapons, still i'm going to invest in explosives,it is something very simple I just have to change points from something to another,Explosives have some deadly weapons like the Satchell Charges and the Red Victory Grenade Rifle, gotta think about that...
