That's a bug alright. You're supposed to land safely by the statue. My post is pointless because I don't know how to fix it.

Ive tried every possible thing and i have no way of getting out of here. I have no save out of that door that locks behind you. This is the end of this character i guess... 250+ hours of playtime all halted by a single terrifying bug...

If reloading doesn't save you, I suppose it's "pray for eventual bugfix" for you. :/

If your on PC you can open the console and type "tcl" (without quotes) float to the ground and type it again to return clipping to normal.

Dont just "reload" the game. Quit the game to desktop/dashboard and restart it then reload. There is a know issue with Beth games like TES and Fallout that loading the game can cause issues with world states transferring to different saves. That is to say, you might get a bug and reload and still have the bug, but a restart and reload normally clears the bugs unless is a 100% reproducable issue.

Have you tired going back to a save before starting the quest, and doing it again?

Do you have the become ethereal shout? If so, just equip that and shout before you hit the ground.
