Waiting at the gate to Sancre Tor : IV

I am having problems with the other characters. First, the only way I could get Steffan and the brothers to follow me out of Cloud Ruler was to fast travel to a nearby location. Now I am at Sancre Tor and am told to stay near Steffan so I can find out what is happening at Sancre Tor. But all he does is stand outside the gate with the two Blades guards, and with the four brothers. The time is about 1:30am. How long do you have to wait? Or is this a bug? I did go inside the gate and killed a few undead things, but I'm not sure I was supposed to leave Steffan. We've been warned not to bump the script, so do I just wait? Or wait until the next version comes out?
