Blocking clarifications

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 10:52 pm

A couple quick questions I was hoping might have easy answers:

1. You can't block with a bow, but you appear to be able to punch with it. Does this benefit from the Power Bash perks?

2. One loading screen says that Two Handed weapons do more damage than One Handed, but don't block as effectively. Does that mean they don't block as effectively as using a one-hander plus a shield (which seems obvious), or that blocking with just a One Handed weapon (no shield) actually works better than blocking with a Two Handed weapon?

Thanks in advance.

Bump.

I'm especially curious about whether bows benefit from Block perks at all.

Well, I'm storing up a few perk slots, and plan to be boosting my Block skill for a while. If nobody else knows, I'll do some experimenting and post the results.

Disclaimers: I'm on Xbox, so it won't be the most scientific of studies. Also, my Block is only 21 now, so that may take some time. (Hey, I've been dual wielding.)

Lets see if the strat guide has anymore info for us, give me a sec.

Edit: OK, I have a little clarification on one thing. Parrying with either a one handed, or two handed does block less than with a shield. So that answers the question of one hander blocking more just by themselves.
