My wife and I were at the Symphony last night and when we paused at the elevators we saw two well-dressed, middle-aged couples, talking. One man said something about Tchaikovsky (part of the night's program) and the discussion turned to the Nutcracker and ballet. One of the wives said "I used to like ballet, but then I took an arrow to the knee," As old as this has gotten, that was truly a coffee-out-the-nose moment for me.

That's pretty weird.

This is a little too widespread.

I was so struck by the moment, by the time I thought to say anything they were gone. My wife had no idea what was so funny. I thought about it for a minute and decided it just wouldn't translate.

I think I would have stood in stunned silence for a minute or two, and then burst out laughing.

I'm in my late 30s. Had an outpatient surgery on Friday. Local anesthetic. Doctor was in late 40s. Supposed to keep talking to keep calm and avoid muscle spasms. We talked Skyrim throughout the surgery.

A little odd.

I have honestly come to two conclusions based on the wide-spread nature of this meme:

1. Skyrim fans are determined to have an arrow-in-the-knee comment on EVERY Youtube video regardless of its content.

2. Skyrim fans will one day rule the world.

I'm not sure how I would feel about my doctor being a gamer (says the gamer).

I'd be cool with that. It means he has a life and some interests outside of his job. Which means he's interested in people. Which means he may just care whether I die, instead of just worrying about what my death would mean for his professional insurance premiums.

Seems that memes are starting to propagate faster into society every time a new one starts.

Frankly, I wouldn't mind this meme dominating the world. It's Skyrim. It doesn't get old, mate. You might love to hate it, but you love it either way!

I was doing pretty bad on one of my final exams because... well anyway... :teehee:

I decided when I felt I had hit a roadblock where I wasn't going to be able to answer the rest that I'd just hand in the test with what I had finished, but before I did that I wrote this as the answer to the first question I didn't answer.

"I used to be good at [Subject I didn't do too well in.], but then I took an arrow to the knee."

:P If you're going to fail you may as well do it in good spirits with a smile rather than a frown.

That's quite funny because, as a medical student 2 years from graduating and with an exam in two days, I'm online on a Skyrim forum at half 3 in the morning...

awkward.
