Blood on the ice quest in whindhelm : V

ok so im trying to start this quest but nothing is working i looked and a few walkthroughs on youtube for it but its still not working i tried fast traveling to a different city 4 times buts still nothing is working any one have any ideas or has the same problem?

Let me guess the victim wont appear dead and the quest wont start if so welcome to the club of people pissed at bethesda cause we cant get the windhelm house. :celebration:

yeah the body wont appear at all no matter how many times i fast travel to a different city and back.

Yep then chreco you are one of the many who got a glitch cause of bethesda and their herp derps you will need to do 3 things to undo this glitch 1 reload one of your old saves before you went into windhelm and just wait near the graveyard 2 steal the key from shatter shields wife or 3 wait like most of us for bethesda to get off their ass and fix the game.

Oh look it's an ass that would rather up his post count by being a D**K rather then being the slightest bit helpful or caring.

Yea i am having the same problem, i followed what online guides said and the game guide. something i have read however is you need to get x far in the war quests, i am not sure if that is true or not, and i have yet to try it.

Do something else, come back later, get experience; there's no rush, the quest will unlock eventually.

i finally got this quest. I rode the wagon to the Windhelm stables and it was night time when I entered the city. Then near the graveyard there were people there and my favourite Windhelm NPC dead...

So maybe one of the requirements is at night? I have been to Windhelm plenty of times during the day but the graveyard was always empty.

try looking at the hall of the dead. they may have moved the body already

I managed to start the quest, but ran into a few problems.

1. i can't ask for the fellow in jarl's hq for help even though it is part of the quest.

2. i can't investigate the murder scene. the quest icon appears over the tombstone but i can't to anything about it.

kinda frustrating really, i can't do anything to advance the quest line. i did however managed to break into a house to investigate evidence but that's about it really.

i had the questmarker over the tomb but my quest didnot advance until after i spoke to the lady in the hall of the dead. i think when the body gets moved, the quest marker doesnot follow.

for #2 you just have to follow blood trail
