Timestamps and Windows 7 64bit

Post » Sat Oct 31, 2009 6:00 pm

Hi!

I'm using a steam install of morrowind on 64bit windows 7.

This is a recepe for disaster when it comes to modding.

I understand that in order for esm files to work properly, the original Morrowind esm, and the ones for Bloodmoon and Tribunal, must have their date of creation reset to around 2002.

Unfortunately, google has failed me. I can't find a timestamp manipulator that works on a 64bit system that updates what date the launcher actually sees.

I have tried to use "TimeStamps", and windows seems to think that its working, but Morrowind doesn't appear to care.

So, to people who are in my admittedly unusual situation, what did you do?

What works?

hmmm i have never heard of this, and we do get the odd steam topic appear every now and then.

I think your best bet is in the hardware and software section of the morrowind forums.

Get Wrye Mash, you can adjust the timestamps of the files with that. You could probably also grab mlox, as this will redate things for load order as well.

Yea, Mash is pretty slick, you can modify the plugin description, timestamp, name, and masters all from Mash. Personally, I basically just use Mash, mlox, and TESTool for my "player" needs, have to add in a few more for my "modder" needs though.

Just remember to use the save button (below the masters list) on Mash after changing the timestamp or the change will not actually be set.
