Great game? Yes, without doubt. Best TES game? Not sure ...

Sadly, I'll have to vote no, even though it made lots of improvement almost nothing can beat the first playthrough of oblivion (discovering spellmaking the first time was amazing!).
Not the best TES game but certaindly the best game in a long time!

1.Morrowind.2.Oblivion, didnt play the first The Elder Scrolls, so 3.Skyrim = the worst.

As far as the most fun? Definitely. I don't have to worry about my Followers dying off. It's a very stressful job.

I agree with that as well. There are so many things that make this game great. It's too bad people can't come to accept that no game is perfect, no game offers EVERYTHING that everyone wants, because there are so many different ideas about what a game should be, and what it should have. Acceptance. Acept it's a great game for what it is, accept it has faults, kinda like you do for family..Everyone has their faults, but you accept them for who they are, and focus on their good points.

Maybe some expaniosn add some more depth.

Wow. How the heck could you add anymore depth. Think about it...you are free to make any kind of character build you wish. The possibilities are endless..if you think outside the box of pure mage, pure thief, and pure warrior.

Not only the Best TES game but THE greatest game ever made. There are so many people saying it's been 'dumbed down' but i think taking something quite complex and time consuming and adopting simplicity is what game developers should strive for, if it is contextual to the genre and doesn't take away gameplay.

Allot of people who say the game is 'dumbed down' also use phrases like; ROFL, LOL, LMAO, WTF, Which actually is dumbing down something far more important than a game, and that is the English language.

Woot..I so agree. I don't think it's dumbed down at all. I feel it gives a player ULTIMATE freedom to do as they choose. Thats not dumbing down. The game rocks..and it's sad people can't see that!

sign me up also (oblivion was my favourite elder scrolls game),but i have to admit that i feel more at home in skyrim now (just love the mountains,snow,animals e.t.c) although tis extremely close (i will always love oblivion/was my first elder scrolls game,and will still play it :thumbsup:

Edit: So many votes cast in such short time. I'm wondering if half the people here apperantly played all TES games because to come to such conclusion it requires you to.

it is the best tes game i have played so far. although not every aspect of the game has improved. what i miss is spellmaking and the old magic-system in general (the current system with pop-up spelltomes is a mess).

ps: the controls + interface are just wrong
