That's http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Lost_Valley_Redoubt. Along the road from Whiterun to Markarth. One of the more impressive ruins wihtout an interior in the game. Along with Arcwind Point.

Just killed an elder dragon solo in the wilderness. Health was low from the fight, suddenly I hear a bear growl behind me and boom! I'm dead.

I was about to enter a room where I knew a Draugr Deathlord/Overlord is, and I was happy that I had the full Unrelenting Force so I can finally throw him around too. Then my roommate wants to play too, so I make a save and let him play. After his session is over I take over and I prepare myself to shout the deathlord into oblivion. But I forgot that my roommate always reassigns his shouts on the spacebar(hence the F - which I use for shouts - is now JUMP). So I enter the room (pure mage here, only cloth) and I'm all "mwahahahah" and the Overlord comes at me.....and I jump.....before I realize what's going on, he fus ro dah's me and then one-shots me with his ebony bow. :sadvaultboy:
Oh, and my roommate was watching....

Some of these responses are absolutely hilarious. Love it.

My two most unexpected deaths were:

1) Day one, got enough gold to buy a horse thinking it would be like Oblivion horses. Pretty disappointed but I was at least moving along fast. Dashed off to find the College and slipped off the steep walk way somehow. I'm watching myself and my horse fall ForEVEr, yelling outloud in RL, "Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo". Ironically, the horse died, and I escaped just barely. I left the horse at the bottom and crawled back up to the top.

2) Fighting a dragon and THOUGHT I was doing pretty good along with my companion, dog and summoned fire daedra. Right up to the time the darn thing grabbed me in his mouth. I knew it was gonna end badly when it went to 3rd person, and I was flung away like a discarded rag doll.

Describes the scenario perfectly...

I died unexpectedly there to. But it was a rune that killed me.
I saw some strange glowing symbol and went to investigate it.
And was quite startled by the explosion that one-shotted my character.
At least then I knew what those runes were.

Was demonstrating the graphics to an older relative who was visiting, showing them giants herding Mammoths. Zoomed in with the bow to show them a little better and finger slipped, launching an arrow at two giants with three Mammoths.

Just said, "Oh... and now you're going to see them kill me."

That happened to me too. More ridiculously when playing a mage and having already used the runes myself :facepalm:

I took a fireball in the knee.
Joking aside, first encounter with a dragon priest. I swear I could find Alduin from how high I was sent flying.

It really scared the life out of me. :sadvaultboy:

I got my head cut off by a bandit, honestly didn't see that coming

I got into my first dragon fight in skyrim, the one outside whiterun. I kill him with a cool as finishing move but after that his head falls on me and sent me into the skis. It was like being hit by a giant. i know it was a glitch because i have yet to have the same thing happen again.

I was on adept, but I made it through that. I had 4 wolves, 2 cavebears, 2 bears, 2 sabercats, 2 spriggans and 1 spriggan matron... I was also between level 20 and 30, and well equipped.

I one shotted the wolves then took out the bears, sabercats and spriggans with sword and board. Just kept them from all getting at me at once by dancing about. Light armor might help for that, I don't know yet.

ran off a really high cliff..wasnt paying any attention to what i was doin and ran right the hell off..

My most unexpected death was my first dragon. He was being shot by every archer around the tower, then lands right in front of my mage. I hit him with jets of fire and lurches forward and eats me. Shocked the hell out of me, but I LOL'd.

Mountain climbing, dropped about 5 feet and died... I'd gone at least twice that elsewhere, suddenly: death...

Otherwise, it's been mostly scenarios where I thought I was going to die, to my surprise and pride, I did not.

Flying for about 15 seconds after getting draugr shouted, doing several flips, then slid down a staircase and then off a cliff. Would have made a great gif.

In the beginning just after you were about to be executed in Helgen, went into the tower and was told(by Ralof?) to jump; I was suppose to fall in the Inn, however, my orc didn't make it and fell to his death. Thanks Alduin for delaying the execution! lol

Full health. Bandit walks up to me and does a two handed finisher.

One of those damn gem pedestals that are hiding in dark corners of dungeons. ZAP!!! You are dead.

A couple minutes after it ended she broke out the Kindle and I fired up Skyrim. She almost wet herself watching my low-level sneak character getting owned by bears. I must've died over ten times in about an hour. I'd kill one bear... heal and then see half my health gone and turn around to see another one about to make me dinner again.

I got 1-shot by a falling pot.
