There's a guy who sells a dog for money. When I try to buy it, he tells me I already have an animal. At first I thought he was being racist towards my darkelf mage, so I dismissed her. But he still thinks I already have an animal. I don't, and have never picked up a dog.

I don't really care why the game thinks I have one (bug or whatever). Since I am playing on a PC, is there a console command I can use to "reset" the follower bit, and allow me to grab a dog?
