So upon returning to Whiterun from a dungeon run. I pop into breezehome to offload my treasures, then I set about crafting at the blacksmith workshop next door. I'm hammering away on the bench just slightly improving some of my elvish light armour, when I start to hear unsettled whiterun civilians cursing, followed by an echoing distant screach. I look to the skies but there is nothing. However the echoing howls persist and now the whitrun guard have mobilised to the market area and the citadel gate.
Still nothing in the skies but the something doesn't sit right and the atmosphere amongst the citizens is tense....
A shadow moves across the street and then a Blood Dragon swoops and perches upon the hunters shop across the way. Bellowing a peirceing howl and unleashing an engulfing flame upon the fleeing villagers.
Whiterun gaurds are now shooting arrows.
The Blood Dragon reacts swooping down onto a gaurd in the market area and engulfing him In a fatal flame. I help the gaurd by summoning a flame atronach and firing my own volley of arrows from outside Breezehome.
The atronach unleashes fireballs amongst a group of whiterun gaurd from the town gate. The Blood dragon reacts with a howl and takes flight again circling the City causing terror. The air is now filled with ranged fire but the Dragon spots its target and swoops down grabbing a gaurd amongst his jaws and then throwing him with a fatal impact to the citadel wall. I seize this moment to sprint to the distracted beast and Plunge My Skyforged steel blade through his skull.

I'm now met by the whole town whom have gathered to observe the death of this great beast and mourn the loss off their gaurd.

A truely fantastic Random encounter!

I had encounters in other holds. The dragons seem to at least grab one guard for an instant kill. I looted the guard and gave it to my companion, I am lucky he favors that light armor, he looks like a guard companion now.

Yeah I loved some of these!

I once got a Companion's contract to go beat up Alvor the blacksmith in Riverwood, so I went ahead and did that. Then all of the sudden a dragon comes down on Alvor's house, and starts breathing fire on everybody. Me + the guards and some civilians eventually take down the dragon, but one person died. Sigrid, Alvor's wife.

Alvor had a bad day today, being beat up, his home damaged (I would assume from a huge dragon landing on it), and his wife killed for everybody to see. He looked at his wife, said some depressing things, then walked slowly into his house and sat down, looking down very sad. I felt bad for him and loaded a save to try to kill the dragon without his wife dying.

But I still beat him up.
