I need help with new character

I've been planning on making a heavy restoration class and I need help deciding which race to pick and which weapon style, so if anyone could please help me on deciding I would be grateful. :)

I'd say just pick one at random and try to figure out a "personality" from the start. That's what really makes a character worth playing.

But if I had to pick a specific race to be a natural choice for a paladin type character, I think Imperial would be the most obvious. Nord would also make a fine choice. If I was to make a paladin myself though, I'd pick Argonian, just for a twist - and it would still be pretty believable.

EDIT: Also, maces paired with a shield would be pretty natural for the choice of weapon. Alternately, a sword and shield could work, just for the sake of the Dawnbreaker if nothing else.

I'm thinking of making a Paladin for my next character. I will be an Imperial and he will use One-handed (Maces) and a Shield. Heavy Armor, Restoration and Speech. I may add Smithing but probably later. I don't know if Smithing suits the role play though.

I like to role-play my characters so I don't make them for efficiency.
