Bears are a greater threat than we imagined.

So I am in this cave filled with Cave Bears. I am a sneaky guy, and for whatever reason animals seem able to sniff you out, even when invisible. Makes some sense, I suppose. But anyway...

To fight the bastards, I am using Frenzy to make them kill each other and whittle their health down. Now, I get to these 2 bears, cast Frenzy between them and they start fighting each other. Standard fair. I did NOT expect, however, for one of the Cave Bears to cast a restoration spell on itself.

Every magical effect has it's own little particle effect. The bears had my red glow and pretty pink dots from the Frenzy spell; and when this particular bear got to about a quarter of his life bar, I see the yellow dots and swirly dootles that come from casting a Heal spell, and his health went up.

Note: I am the only (living) human in this entire cave.

We are doomed! Haha, Yeah bears are a handful already. May the 9 divines protect us if they master magic!

Very odd. You sure that it wasn't one of the bears giving the other a disease? I've seen enemies catch diseases from animals, it makes them glow and sparkle briefly.

Only thing I can think is that the bear ended up with a potion in its inventory somehow and used it.

I knew I wasn;t going crazy I was fighting a cave bear and suddenly I get attacked by wolves, skeletons, and a flame atronach all glowing that same green color when a spriggan summons help yet there was no spriggans anywhere around and the bear was not glowing.

All you need now is for a saber toothed Snagglepuss to jump on you, then exit stage left.

If there is one thing Skyrim needs, it is more sixually ambiguous pink saber cats.

I've seen that before when animals attack other people and beasts and I think they are getting a disease which from what I noticed in 3rd person uses the same effect.

And next we will be greeted with "So, you wish to master the arcane arts? You've come to the right place"
OT, I too think that it was one of them giving a disease to the other. The disease effect seems to be similar to the healing effect.

It's prolly Rockjoint.
I know because I contract it about fifty times a day, bears are riddled with it.
The particle effect is similar to healing but not identical, healing is a much more rosey glow, way more warmth.

But... I dunno how it's health could have gone up tho.

But it should be easy enough to repeat the experiment and confirm your findings as many times as needed to examine the effect thoroughly.
I bet you 500 septims it's rockjoint and you were mistaken about the health bar.
