Great game but goodbye Bethesda

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 11:31 am

Glad I finished main story and got 2 guild quest lines completed. Really enjoyed it so good job Bethesda for that.
With version 1.1 I had many CTD (crash to desktop) but I fixed it by using CFF Explorer and allowing the TESV.exe to be able to use >2gb of ram. When 1.2 arrived I had lots of missing textures, see through walls, also CTD was not fixed. I couldnt enable >2gb of ram as Brethesda blocked it and recieved error message. I went back to 1.1 with no problems. Now 1.3 has brought more CTD, not able to play at all as the amount of CTD. Can't go back to 1.1 as that removes fast travel. So like Fallout 3 the game is not able to play ( Fallout 3 was that I was unable to save game as it crashed the game, waited months for patch).

So goodbye Brethesda, now I go to Star Wars the Old Republic, done 2 beta weekends with that and Bioware know how to make PC games as I recieved no bugs what so ever durring the Beta weekends.

considering the caliber of titles nowadays? yip.. still love TES but i have no idea what the hell they were thinking with skyrim..seriously.Not gonna bash the game cause it would feel like bashing a friend but how did they get it so wrong? Been ages since i played a single player game so was looking forward to a....mmm gonna stop there. to Bethesda, perhaps im in a minority here but i would have waited another 6 months to a year for Skyrim, i keep hoping you guys will patch it up good.I have converted alot of players over the years to the Elder scrolls and for good reason anyone who has played it knows. But now? please dont let me down Todd :( ,

Why did you post this? Only to state your opinion about Bioware vs Bethesda?

LOL Bioware after they mutilated Dragon Age 2. I am just waiting to see what they do to Mass Effect 3. SWTOR I heard was no better then how Sony trashed the gameplay on SWG and turned it into a simple kiddie game. I have no love for Sony or Bioware at all. Have fun in your new game OP.

This might fix your problem: http://skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1013

It allows large address awareness without editing the exe file, thus allowing the game to run with steam. :)

I was allowed to beta test SWTOR for about a months (some months ago, so my beta build was different from the one at the moment) and was not impressed. I was so unimpressed actually that I cancelled my preorder. And after Dragon Age 2, I'll never buy a Bioware game at release. ... I plan on buying the next TES game on release day ... 'nough said.

tl'dr: Can't configure my PC properly so I blame the game developers.

Bioware is a pale shadow of what it once was, same console-pandering as every other developer.

Have fun playing TOR... but we still don't allow Hello/Goodbye threads.

Sorry you had issues with the patches - I don't know what platform you were on, but I found 1.3 to help greatly - stopped the random overworld stutter for me jogging across the land, and addressed, as far as I can tell, the magic resistance stuff, etc. Not one single crash since the patch, but then, I only had 2 prior to that in 80 hours of game play, one of which I actually caused. But ymmv, as always, with a single player game.
