Do Daedric Artifacts scale with player level?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 2:37 pm

I am not asking if the artifacts 'grow' in power with your character, but rather if I acquire an artifact weapon at level 10 will it be the very same as if I were to acquire it at, say, level 40?

I've heard none of the Daedric stuff levels, and has the same stats no matter what level you get it at.

The bright side is that Daedric artifacts are pretty powerful anyway.

There are still several items in the game that are leveled (gifts from Jarls, etc.). They do not level with you. But then they are never any better than something you would find later anyway.

Course what I do is use the console to add the updated item as I level to the point I would have gotten it then. But since nothing is really worth keeping anyway I never really bother.

The strongest version of chillrend is the most damaging sword, it also ha paralyse and 30 ice damage. You could beat it with a daedric sword with your own enchantments, but in terms of base damage, chillrend is the best.

I'm honestly not sure about whether/how they scale, but I know they do not scale very well if at all. I found Mehrunes Razor, Volundrung (Spelling?), and the Ebony Blade all at over lvl 40, and they were very unimpressive.

Maybe I tried google already, found that page, and still wanted to ask since it doesn't say diddly about daedric artifacts? Ctrl+F 'daedric' on that very page and get off your pedestal.

You have answered your own question, it didn't say anything about daedric artifacts > therefore daedric artifacts do not scale.

It wasn't meant to condescend you, was more of a joke to be honest..

I wouldn't take things people say on a games forum so personally..

Ok, no problem. The issue is that, having not acquired any daedric artifacts yet, I don't know if any of those items are in fact daedric artifacts but just haven't been labeled. It is only a wiki...

No they aren't, the scaled items are mostly items gained from the thieves guild questline, DB questline etc.

Skyrim has a heck of a lot less item scaling then Oblivion had, you aren't nerfing yourself by getting deadric items early, no. However smithing and enchanting are too oped in skyrim so anything you can get is not as good as things that you can make, even supposed legendary blood items of fully powered deadric princes are not as strong as enchanted legendary deadric swords.

Also remember that you can't get most daedric artifacts without being level 20+, but I agree with the person above, the unique items in this game are to weak. Even if you don't exploit smithing to the max you can craft better weapons.

No the Daedric weapons stats do not change based off your level.

I think the only exception is with the enchanted items. You can find some enchanted items that you cannot replicate with crafting.
