There are people with over 200 hours and no problems.
If you're lucky enough, there might be no problems to you

But it's not safe now.
I wouldn't buy for ps3.
Most of ps3 users have problems

I own the PC version, but you could try canceling the updates. ;) Just press (O) when the 1.02 update pops up.

so, do you guys recommend me not installing 1.02 and not auto-saving? keep in mind that lag and freezes are the only thing that really bother me...

Keep an eye on your saved data's folder on your PS3 there might be corrupted files from Skyrim, it was the cause of freezing for me.

Without reading all of the previous responses:

That depends. It's a great game and lots of fun. But, there are lots of problems too. I would rent it. Play it and see what you think. If you really like it, go buy it.

My friend has clocked several hundred hours already on his PS3 and he's only had the dragon souls glitch and the dragons flying backwards.

My brother has been playing on the PS3 for a while with no problems, but he's pretty casual compared to most people. If you feel like you're going to have 100+ hours under your belt in the first couple weeks I'd wait.

Skyrim seems to be an amazing game. However, many ps3 players have stated a ton of problems and glitches with the game. I was thinking of buying it tomorrow...Should i do it or not? I'm afraid that my game "lags" and freezes all the time and then bethesda don't fix it...but it is a game very hard to miss...

Dont listen to the haters....buy Skyrim and enjoy it .........like i did and millions of people too

Knowing what I know now, I would have skipped out on this game.

Truthfully even when the game is running fine its not exactly the greatest thing in the world. Many things have fallen by the wayside in order to dumb this title down for the masses.

For me, other than some improved aesthetic value, the game is a step down from previous TES games.

If you are picking between this game and say, dark souls or uncharted 3, then I would definitely pass on skyrim.

I'm still playing it, but I have given up on having a super build because the amount of lag just gets unbearable. So if you don't mind creating many mini characters and possibly having to give up your game at upper levels then its ok.

Buy it on the pc , it looks better , you don't lose out the quality mods that will be worked on for years to come , and it's more fluid if you have a decent rig (mine is 2 year old , and it wasn't an expensive rig yet the game runs great ) , you have far less loading times too .... and cherry on the cake , the game is less expensive on pc .... it's a no brainer unless for people who don't have a computer ...

I mean i'm not worried about minor bugs like the backwards flying dragon at all. I've encountered plenty of these in Oblivion and Fallout 3 and they didn't bother me. What i'm afraid of is the game becoming a slideshow after 20 hours of gameplay and freezing every 10 minutes  ...

listen im a ps3 owner im 80 hrs in and yes iv had the odd crash thats it...no lag...no unplayble issues. its been a great game...oh yes my save is between 10/11mb again ur choice but me and 3 other ps3 owners i know have had an amazing game

Put it off till you can't anymore, they get it. There are a ton of problems (like all Bethy's software) and broken things. If you're on the PC, you can use the console to sort them out but I don't think you can on the PS3, et al. The longer you wait, the more patches will be out and the less aspirin you'll need :)

sorry for jumping in here, but i got to ask.
i am a PC user who has never touched a console in my entire life.

i don't understand how the experience could differ between different ps3 users?
isn't the idea of consoles that they should be identical and everyone who is using the systems should have the exact same kind of performance?, therefor making it easier for game developers to streamline their product?

I am playing the PS3 version, so far 85 hours in, haven't even started the MQ and level 31 and I have not had 1 Crash, bug or issue so far other than a floating pot which is hardly game breaking! Don't listen to what you read here seriously, if you worried and believed everything you read here you wouldn't buy ANY version of Skyrim! Only the people who are having issues are posting here the other Millions are not, they are too busy playing Skyrim and having fun with this truly Amazing game!

The problem is some peoples PS3's have corrupted data, yes that can happen even on a console, I have seen it myself when I tried to uninstall a game not long ago it locked up half way and now it says it is corrupted data! You see although the PS3 uses different OS's it is still just a PC when you get down to it, there is still a Video Card, Memory, a CPU and the HD it uses is the same as in any laptop! Because of this it can still suffer the same problems PC's can but there is even less ways of fixing it!

I have a theory as well as to why alot of PS3 owners are having issues and it was the same for FO3, I wonder how many people actually quit back to the Main Menu BEFORE they hit the PS button to exit the game? You see when you quit it releases the game data and cache and clears the memory, I have ALWAYS done this and haven't had one issue with FO3 or Skyrim! I think some people are causing their own issue by PS'ing out straight from the in-game corrupting data over time and causing issues! Bethesda games are huge and take alot of resources, safe to say this is the best way of dealing with it. Just a theory.

For you PC users this is the equivalent of resetting the PC while ingame!

I always back out of my ps3 and my game is still jacked. I had to stop playing until.i read a few more patches work. However, I dont have as bad as lag issues as many ps3 users. My game still lags, cold restaet works best for me. Major quest breaking glitches is my main issue.

Wait to buy this game on ps3. Most bugs will be smoothed (not necessarily fixed) when the game is cheaper. Also with all the bugs why invest in the platform when it is unknown if future content will be produced for the ps3 and if it will break the game worse.

I have it on ps3 and run into minor problems here and there. Keep in mind though that I'm bedridden and have been since the game came out due to medical issues (my entire foot is shattered from car accident. Stupid automacars!!! >.<) and I play for 14+ hours a day. During that time, the game freezes maybe four times causing me to reset, and lags for maybe an hour total over the course of my playtime. Very little problems. I do suggest it, just be patient with it. If you rush through the scenes, it causes glitching, lag, and freezing. You have to be willing to sit for 10-15 seconds to allow areas to load or risk lag. That kind of thing. But it should honestly be fine once you've got the hang of it.

Basically, the biggest issues you'll run into are the same issues that everyone else runs into on any other system. Ps3 lag is just overhyped because we're spoiled.

Get it... I have it for ps3 and only play it for ps3 (mainly only for the fact that my computer svcks)

You'll have virtually flawless gameplay for around 50 hours of gameplay... after that you'll start to get some weird things happening... around 100 hours of gameplay you'll get glitches alot... but very very rarely will it actually affect your game... and if it does it'll only affect it a little bit...

If I had a ps3 I would probably spend more time in the new uncharted game than skyrim. Atleast until the big patch is out.

It works fine on my PS3. I think it's frozen three times in 250+ hours.
