Does anyone else agree? There are countless ways it could be made better! And on PC, the mouse acts really weird when using it.
Anyone know why?

Yeah I've Been complaining about this ancient game
mechanic since release.

It's really quite laughable and sad a game gets so much credit but takes huge shortcuts to make it work.

Really a menu system to set up another menu system. Really? REALLY?

That's what mods are for.

Try http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=667. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1314273-wipz-skyui/page__p__19763911__hl__ui__fromsearch__1#entry19763911 is currently in development.

As for the mouse "acting weird" try Google -> http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/34878/how-do-i-turn-off-mouse-acceleration-in-skyrim

The mouseover, especially for dialog options is horrendous. I am impressed at how poorly mouse events were implemented.

Keep in mind the PC version was shipped with XBOX controller set as default... so that explains a lot. If I wanted the experience of using a console controller I would play with boxing gloves on.

I use a http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-940-000117-Wireless-Gamepad-F710/dp/B0041RR0TW. I actually prefer it to using a mouse, now. It even works with http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=667.

May Stendarr teach you the value of tolerance and Julianos the hidden wisdom behind a rambling fool's slurs, as with the OP. The UI we all hated in Oblivion is preferable to our current one, which says something.

I use WASD to navigate the menus so these issues don't affect me (other than the dialog UI which is bugged). I hate using the mouse.

I've been using QD inventory mod and it's fantastic. I couldn't even rotate/examine items in the inventory screen before because it was so damn buggy. Now I can check out items like I'd be able to if I were a console player. The dialogue UI is still glitched to hell but using WASD keys negates that problem.
