Improving Dark Brotherhood Armor

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 11:19 pm

My buddy is telling me if you upgrade the Dark Brotherhood armor at a smithy it will break the enchantments. Is this true? My smith skill isn't high enough to test this out.

Also, what do you have to have to upgrade the armor?

You can't even upgrade them. Your buddy is a liar.

The only unique items that can be upgraded are the Ebony Mail and Ebony Blade; and it doesn't break the enchantment.

Yes, you can upgrade them, provided you have the arcane enchanter perk and a piece of leather, and no, you won't "break" the enchantments.

False. I upgrade all the unique weapons and armor.

Also there are I think 4 different sets of the Brotherhood armor one that is not enchanted another that doubles(triples?) all the stats.

Then there is the Jester outfit, the robes and stuff

Yeah I found a set in the Dawnstar Sanctuary there were not enchanted. Which is great because now I can enchant them the way I see fit. Would love to find the double stats armor though...

SPOILER(You get the location for one of the bonuses for one of the contracts, not sure with one) Don't look if you don't want to find the location yourself!!

It's in Hag's Rock(redoubt?) Northwest of Whiterun in the mountains behind the throne in the second room you met the Hagraven that disappears, nice dungeon due to so much loot

All I can say is that the DB armor makes you look like a spandex-wearing superhero. It's pretty funny looking.

Okay I'm pretty ticked off....

I finally got my smithing skill to 100 but when I go to the workbench to upgrade my Dark Brotherhood armor....... the highest it lets me upgrade to is "flawless." Why not legendary?!?!

Try using some potions and blacksmithig enchanted items. You'll prob need to get up to about 130 for that

That's the ancient shrouded armor if you had gone to get your fortune you would have gotten it.

You might not have the right perk in smithing to be able to upgrade to legendary.
