1st patch didn't fix the framerate issues

I'm still having framerate drop issues after the first patch. I'm guessing that patch was for something else? It wasn't exactly a small patch tho, 249MB?

Wasn't supposed to. It fixed some quests and some scripting issues.

It fixes some quest and scripting errors is what Bethesda's blog said.

Did the d3d9.dll fix not work for either of you, or have you not tried it yet? It solved all my framerate issues and NPC lagging and stuttering problems. I've been playing a glorious game that is working fine now for the last few hours. I do hope Bethesda addresses the framerate issue in an official capacity soon however.

That fix works for me. I just removed the d3d9.dll file in order to test if the patch helped the issue. Sadly, I was wrong. Back to the R2D2 patch!

Mine didn't work either. Fallout 3 ran as any game can, I meet the requirements, and this is pissing me off that FNV is just lagging...beyond belief. I'm considering returning.

Yes, via steam.

Make sure steam is online, and that you haven't turned off automatic updating in the game's properties (in the steam library)

Whatever they did, it no longer gets quite as high FPS with the dll file it did pre-patch. :(

Where I once got 55+, I know get 45. I used to be able to walk from where Cobb is standing to the saloon and it was 60+ FPS. Now it's 50, 45 when I get to the saloon. (Were it was 55 FPS.)

Still better that before the dll and patch, (A lot more 20-30s then.) but a bit of a downgrade. I can even remove the dll and it's the same as before, just my second GPU reports no activity like with it.

Kinda wish I had left it in offline mode. :shrug:

I think it also makes the enemies respawn which is definately good.

Yeah, patch didn't address the NPC-fps issue (pulled my d3d9.dll out to test it), nor the saving issue (which I didn't have yesterday, but I do have today). Oh, and I just got my first CTD about 30 minutes after receiving the patch. :stare:

Gstaff's stickied post about the save issue indicates that they've solved it, but I've had to block access to the remote folder to prevent the loss of my autosaves and quicksaves. I don't have any issue with my settings not saving, so the two problems don't seem to go hand-in-hand as Gstaff implies.

How do I know if it has been updated? I "believe" I have auto-updating on, but I would like to check to see if I got the patch or not. Thanks for the feedback.

There is no other option but "Always keep this game up to date". I tried to change it but no go.

Goto Library>Fallout New Vegas>Properties>Updates>View Fallout NV update history

I can only speak for myself but now it doesn't matter whether I have it or not the FPS are the same. And by same I mean decent unlike before. Others lose the FPS when they remove the dll. Colour me confused. :shrug:
