does anyone else use a 1h weapon to block without a shield? do the block perks and the items that say "block x% more with your shield" apply to blocking with a 1h weapon?

Its more useful having a healing spell in the other hand.

My left is empty, my right is an iron sword. I avoid shields cos they dont suit my quick and agile ranger. Nothing wrong with blocking with 1 handed.

i know that some of the block perks apply to blocking with a 2h weapon, but do they apply to blocking with a 1h as well?

I'm not sure if they apply to 1h, but I use 1h with an empty left hand quite frequently with my assassin class.

Also, one of my favorite things to do is to use a 1h sword in my right hand and a torch in my left hand. Not only does the torch light the way, but it can also be used to block, and the "shield-bash" with it does fire damage to your opponent.

Trust me, it's awesome.

Try one handed with torch; it's quite fun, and you can set things on fire by 'bashing' with the torch :toughninja:



I suppose you're RPing, which is awesome, but with that one perk in the block perk tree that let's you move at normal speeds whilst blocking, shields don't compromise agility.

I'm pretty sure the block perks that DON'T include the word "shield" in the description apply to blocking with a one-handed and two-handed weapon. Can someone confirm that?
