Hybrid classes

I was wondering about this class. I dont have skyrim yet but when I get it (this weekend) I was thinking of making a class where I have a 1h weapon and I have like fire in my other hand. Is this a good class? And what race should I be?

To be honest race doesn't matter. You can make any race into anything, easily. It's a decent "class" per say, but you are pretty gimped as you have no way to block.

All of the races are fairly equal (Except Redguard and Imperial, who's racial abilities svck). If you want the most effective defensively, go Breton I'd say, although they are hard to make attractive. If you want a war-machine, then go Orc, although one-handed with magic in the other doesn't really fit IMO. Nord is my favorite since they are fairly tall, easiest to make attractive, and it seems to fit the story the best

This. Or Redguards, since they are good with one-handed and okay with destruction. My first playthrough was with a Nord with a similar class and I had no problems, so I guess you could just pick your favorite race.
