I took Lydia as a companion on several quests and have had her pick up some booty off of defeated foes to carry back to Whiterun to sell. She is currently carrying steel plate armor (x6) and steel armor (x2). When I try to take either from her I get the following message: "You can't take your teammate's starting armor." On top of that, she walks around breezehome in her underwear, so she's not even equipping it. All she wears is the boots and gauntlets. Which I guess is kind of sixy for a character in a video game, but still. How do I get her to give up the booty?

Uh you may be experiencing the same thing my husband is at this very moment. He went to go walk into his house in Whiterun and the worker from Belathor's Store walked out. My husband goes upstairs and for the first time Lydia walked out of her bedroom with only her underwear on.

So this maybe why she is "naked."

I had that happen once when I dumped a ton of items into a storage chest, then had her pickup the items. It made all clothing/armor in her inventory become starting armor and left me unable to take them from her. I'm not sure how I fixed it, but it took several hours before she went back to normal. Annekke did that to me once before too.

Never had the underwear issue though.

Sounds like she's starting to get comfortable being around you!

Okay, not really, it just sounds like the game can't differentiate the gear Lydia's baseline gear (you can't take your follower's starting armor, as you pointed out) and the gear she's carrying.

Lydia is the definition of strange behavior.
