Give the console command to um... consoles..

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 6:31 pm

There should really be a console command for ps3 and xbox. Just for the sake of being able to fix 90% of the glitches ourselves in this bug ridden game.

I see no reason why it can't be implemented. Both ps3 and xbox have virtual keyboards... We were able to name our characters..

Someone please explain to me why it isn't/can't be implemented,

Because console gamers lack the intelligence to use such a basic tool.

This. Generalizing and bashing console users is very old and immature.

Im pretty sure there are things you can do that could possibly make a console explode... Like this command "player.placeatme *insert some random bandit prid number here* 30" inside the abandoned house in Markarth. I'm pretty sure after doing that 3 times or so... A console would get up from its under TV perch, give you a metaphorical finger and walk out the door.

Oh and that command can be wicked fun on Master if you aren't scared... or wicked scary if you mistakenly put the number for Bandits marauders and not something like the lower tier guys...

Oh man just got an idea... I wonder if a dragon fits in there... I'm so trying that tomorrow.

I like how they say we'll blow our TV up, when people make NPC spawning mods for console anyway.

If I'm not mistaken the 'console' is a separate executable that directly manipulates the game data. The OS on on a PS3/XBOX/Nintendo isn't designed to run things like that, their ability to multi-task is extremely limited. The closest you can get is with 'cheat' codes, and those have to be hard coded into the game.

A "trimmed" version would work, but yeah some commands can seriously damage a player's save file. Also, what about using this to exploit trophies or achievements?

there is a reason why such mods (or any) are not allowed and violate your contract with your current console distributor which is one word. Stability, doing such has an unknown effect that may as well break your game.
