Farengar Secret-Fire sleeps on a bedroll

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 7:28 pm

Hmm, I stumbled upon this when I decided to go do some enchanting in Whiterun. IMG: http://www.vinterdimma.se/skyrim/images/2011-12-14_00001.jpg has taken to sleeping on bedrolls under his enchanting desk... He placed not only one, but two of them on top of eachother, maybe to get even more comfort? I mean, seriously, his bed is just next door. Trying console command: disable didn't work to delete one either, how can I delete these things?

He's a workaholic. He's so buried in his research, he doesn't even realize that Whiterun was captured by the Stormcloaks.

Haha, now I'm going to picture Farengar as George Costanza. It explains why he doesn't seem to like being asked about his job: he probably doesn't even know what he does!

He's not sleeping you fools. The enchanting table sprung a leak and he's diligently trying to repair the pipes from underneath.

Comedy aside, is there any way I can delete objects like that? I fear after a few days he's going to have five of them... and then ten...

Your character looks so creepy there, watching him sleep under his enchanting table.

Not sure how to delete them.

'MarkForDelete', maybe? Edit: That is, target the bedroll, use the command MarkForDelete, quicksave and reload. Hopefully it'll be gone!

No, damn, didn't work :( Argh, makes me sad, this is my favourite character of all times, and thinking it may be a bugged game. I've been lucky with bugs so far.

Um where is the desk at? And how did a bedroll get there? How is it even possible?

It's in Jarl Barlgruuf's palace, Dragonsreach in Whiterun. Just a sideroom to the main hall. I'm thinking Farengar must have dropped it there, two days in a row. Because there's two of them on top of eachother. Look at the screenshot.

So let the man sleep under his enchanting desk! He obviously prefers it.

Farengar is great. He's not very polite but he knows we would all rather be a court wizard than whatever it is we do (talking real life).

Sorry, man :( I'll keep trying to think of a fix, but my brain's run dry at the moment. It might be worth asking around on the skyrim nexus forums if no-one else here has any ideas. The modders know their stuff about forty million times better than I do.

Can't find a fix anywhere. So I guess I have to live with it and hope it doesn't get worse :)
