Prior to doing The Silver Hand quest, I made my companion (Belrand) to wait in Breezehome. I finished quest, and returned to pick up Belrand but he is not there. I went to Solitude thinking he might be back at the inn, again, not there. I checked out the houses that I own but still no Belrand. I'm quite choked about this since he has alot of expensive gear and items on hand for me. Any ideas what I can do next? Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm getting a little worried since I'm running out of companions (accidentally dying during beginning of gameplay since I had no idea what I was doing) and I need to bring a few to Delphine for another quest.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

I forgot to mention that I have not updated the patches yet. A little sketched out to do so with some problems other players have been experiencing. Would it help my issue if I updated?

He might be walking how, slowly. Wait a week or two ingame. As for the patches, some issues are only fixed before experiencing them so patching after bugs doesn't always work.
