Pickpocket: Misdirection

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 6:20 pm

So, just out of morbid curiosity... has anyone here happened to try fighting by first sneaking up on people, using the Misdirection perk to steal their weapons, then fighting them after when they're defenseless?
Better yet, I'm not sure but I think Perfect Touch lets you steal their armor, leaving them completely naked before fighting them.

It's a clever idea, but tricky and maybe a bit tedious. Also, I have Disarming Bash in the Shield skill tree, which produces a similar effect.

It's useful for a roleplaying style, I'd imagine, and obviously useful in combat under the right circumstances. For instance, I've got a Khajiit monk who uses pickpocket, and I plan on getting that perk for some nice ninja action :toughninja:

I feel this is mostly for non-hostile npcs.

I think this perk as well as the one that used for stealing clothes are more for the lulz than for practical use.

There are very enterprising thieves who managed to steal their opponent's gear MIDCOMBAT by activating shadow warrior.

if you can sneak up on some1 close enough to pickpocket, why not just kill them with a sneak attack and take their stuff when they're dead
not as much fun I have to admit but a lot more practical
