Werewolf question

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 8:53 pm

I'm at the point where I have to make this decision. Can you ever cure it? Do you just randomly turn? I'd like to finish these quests, but I don't want to ruin my gameplay experience by suddenly turning into one at random times. If I can't cure myself or keep myself from turning I really don't want to do this. Any info is appreciated!

Yes you can cure it. Also, you change when you want to, once per day maximum.

You'll only randomly transform if you have the Cursed Ring of Hircine during Hircine's quest.

I have noticed NO drawbacks from being a Werewolf. You get an awesome perk though, immunity to diseases!

You choose when or if you want to transform at all, once per day max (there's a daedric artifact that allows you to transform 1 extra time per day).

Some people have made comments about me smelling like wet fur. That's about it that I have seen. I became a Werewolf, turned a couple of times (it is pretty bad-ass, however I am playing on Expert so I need to level up my skills every chance I can get), and I haven't really used it since then.

The only drawback is no benefit from resting. Also, those comments from the guards can get annoying (Then again, most of the guard comments get annoying). :P

The option to cure yourself is part of the companion quest line but you can complete the quest and cure yourself anytime after that or not at all. Also the cursed ring of hircine can become the ring of hircine after completing the quest "ill met by moonlight" and choosing which way to complete the quest...1 option leads to the saviours hide, doing the other leads to the curse being removed from the ring after you leave the cave.

If you equip the ring of hircine then a new power will be added to the power list allowing you to transform and it's separate from the beast form power...once you transform back into human, simply re-equip the ring and you can transform again so thus no limit to the number of times you can transform in a day (as opposed to beast forms once daily).

I only transform as a means of exploring the wild as you run faster then a horse as a werewolf

You level too quickly in this game, resting for even faster leveling is kind of ridiculous.

werewolf is stronger faster and all around better than the vampire curse. cure it if you want but the benefits are great and you can choose to never transform again but why wouldn't you want to rip apart your foes and eat their bodes to last longer..oh and one other draw back is wail in wolf form you cant pick up anything or loot.

One thing not yet mentioned is if you cure the werewolf disease you can never go back so be absolutely sure you don't ever want to be a werewolf again. As many have said there is NO downside to being a werewolf except during the Ill Met By Moonlight quest where it is possible to randomly transform. After that quest though, it's all benefits.

It says I've been a Werewolf for 100 game days now and I've never turned once besides the initial turn when you do the ceremony in the underforge. I've already completed the Companions quest line. I have an extra of the thing you need to cure it so I can always go back and cure myself once and for all if I decide I want to.
