On a pc, how do I check the version number?

I was told to hit Esc, and then system or settings, should be in the left bottom corner of the small screen. Four-digit number.

In the game folder, hover your cursor over the game executable (TESV.exe). It will show file version (the latest being 1.3.7.0).

I just looked, if you hit ESC in game it's on that screen.
