Argonians... why?

Post » Sat Dec 17, 2011 12:16 am

I would love to play as Argonian, but I don't really see what the point would be other than purely for role playing. I mean, there's nothing underwater that I can see. No quests underwater... no hidden items (to speak of) or noteworthy denizens of the deep to fight.

Seems like a missed chance actually.

Why any other race? They have more abilities than just breathing underwater by the way.

Do you think they look cool? Then all the more reason to choose one regardless of their racial abilities.

Waterbreathing is a rare enchantment, but it's cheap once you find it. Disease resistance isn't useful. Histkin is okay, but it's essentially just free potions. Other racial powers actually do cool and unique things. Argonians aren't useful for game mechanics. Play one if you like their look.

Oh yea because the nord shout is so useful... Actually I've found many hidden locations underwater well beyond my breath limit. One location I had to use a potion halfway back out to avoid death.

I actually use the water-breathing spell a lot, lol. But then again I use all the alteration utility spells.....I like peaceful magic too, not just magic that bursts your enemies organs.

I have spotted some very deep shipwrecks that you could in no way explore without waterbreathing, but I agree. They didn't put much underwater worth exploring.

Why be an Argonian if you can enchat an amulet to waterbreath?

I've died a couple times exploring underwater. Water breathing would be great. Now if any racial ability svcks it's the wood elf, your can make an animal your friend for 60 seconds once a day? And every time I've ever used it the "friendly" animal just ran away.

You can't fight underwater anymore either, you could in Oblivion.

This. I've never played an Argonian in any previous Elder Scrolls game, but I just had to make one here because they look so awesome.

Because they look freakin' awesome! It would have been better if they had lizard feet instead of play-doh.

I personally think Beth did the Argonians right this time. besides the Orc remodel, the Argonians look the best, simply amazing.

Why would you need a reason beyond roleplaying? it's a roleplaying game, that is specifically what the game is for.

not to mention that there's a shout that does the exact same thing, animal allegiance it's called I believe
I actually used that quite a bit when ambushed by saber tooths or bears
dno if it works on trolls though, are they considered animals ?

I do think the argonians look really badass
especially their skin is very nicely made
