PS3: when in third person view, my character is in the middle of the screen and the view is pulled back to basically see from the thighs and up.

But I noticed when I loaded a game earlier, in third person view my character's head is practically to the top of the screen and is only showing from about chest high and up, and he's off to the left instead of in the middle.

Anyone know why this happened? I thought there were only two views on PS3 - first or the "normal" third. I don't like the view of having my character so huge/close. Any ideas on how to get it back to "normal"?

This should be in the issues/tech forum, but I'll give you the info here:
You can control the zoom distance in 3rd person by clicking and holding down the right thumbstick "button" and using the left thumbstick to adjust the zoom.

Awesome! Thanks! I never knew that. That's just made my game so much better, since I prefer a much pulled-back view. Didn't even know it could go that far!
