Quests that get rid of followers. : V

I need a quest that removes my current follower, whom I told to wait in a room that I can l can no longer enter.

Any other tips on fixing this situation would be very helpful as well.

one of the quest for the companions kicked my follower to the curb...cant remeber which...

My follower was not lost in a room after a quest but it did the same thing. When I became part of the compagnion I lost my follower I could not find her anywhere. Well after a few days she appeared back in my home. So I guess this might happen to you also. Not sure though as I had not told her to wait it just happen with this quest.
