Rant about the disarm shout

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 6:08 pm

Okay so first time a Draugr disarmed me I thought, hey that's cool. And then after the 10th time reloading a save because my favourite weapon had been shouted into the floor where I couldn't find it, I started to make a FUUUU face every single time I get disarmed. If weapons were disposable that's fine, but I don't appreciate having mine or my followers good gear blown inside a rock because everything has clipping issues.

We really could use a big red arrow pointing towards your disarmed gear, or some method of making it easier to find.

It really would be nice if specifically disarmed weapons had some sort of glow or some sort of other marker, yeah. I've lost more than one good weapon like this.

The problem, I think, is that because it's considered ejected (albeit forcibly) from your inventory, all items that you drop would do this. I can;t imagine just how much work it would take to have the game recognize which is which.

Thats the point of the disarm, its to put you at an extreme disadvantage. If you running in to an enemy who uses this alot and you cant get past, try countering his shout with fus do rah. A well timed fus do rah will stun them and chuck them around a bit giving you time to close in and hack at him while hes on the deck.

Also dont forget that magical weapons glow a bit, so try looking for the glow effect. But sometimes your weapon will clip out the world space meaning its impossible to get back.

I wish my remote would glow or have an arrow pointed to it but that's not how the world works.
