Loving the economy!

Lol no.

Vendors just stand there all day, no other NPC comes up and buys stuff. I seem to be the only customer in Skyrim. I was hoping I would spy on someone make a large purchase, and kill them and loot them later on. Also, they all seem to magically restock their items and their money always seems to reset at an even amount (like exactly 1000 coins or something). I thought we could affect the economy and sabotage stuff so it has an affect on the city and stuff. Will they patch this stuff later on or have they just left it? PS3 user btw

Haven't seen much of that vaunted "Radiant Quest" system either, have you?
The simple fact is this: Everything said pre-release is a marketing ploy, and probably [censored].

Do you have any idea how insanely complicated it would be to create a working economy? It's not going to happen, though they could simulate it better...

But I think the problem the OP is suggesting is that was said prior to release. I pretty sure I saw a vid with Todd explaining that the economy would be a working one. If you don't trade, prices would go up and if it was a vibrant town then prices would be more competitive. I have seen any of that.

Sabotaging a mill or farm near a city will mean vendors have less money in that city? Dont see how difficult that would be

Then why was it said pre-release that each hold would have its own economy?
That we could use things like sawmills to aid or sabotage an economy?

Do you know how silly I feel for working at the sawmill in Riverwood when I got the game on release day?
Fully expecting this feature?

Why wasnt it said: 'Sorry, we tried but could not pull it off'?
Why was I just left expecting this feature?

If the economic harm happened instantly, or even quickly, it would be just as unrealistic as the current system. Sabotage could be fun, but the destruction of our own characters' opportunities to sell loot seems like a dubious reward for our criminal efforts.

Didn't you know...? The whole economy revolves around the player-character. Want to improve the economy? Level up. Want to ruin the economy? Start a new character.

Just like in real life... oh wait.

Skyrim has more bandits and soldiers than farmers and hunters.

How's that working economy coming along now?

It needs a Septim crisis, Inflation, Sales tax, Obama... Then you'll have a glorious economy.

Seriously though, I noticed how incredibly shallow markets are. People stand around at shops pitching to no one. No randomly generated buyers, travelers or wealthy people. The Farms are nice, though.

I'm trying to collect all the pre-release statments which turned out to be inaccurate or plain wrong.

I've yet to see a single gaming site which hyped SSkyrim doing a post mortem on this.
