Elders Dragons are annoying!

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 4:43 pm

Ok so i have a warrior orc weilding one handed weps and a sheild, i have got the perks so i can reduce fire frost and lightning damage with blocking and the impoved amour rating for heavy amour witch i am currently wering fully upgraded dragon amour but still get f*cked up by some dragons, mostly elder dragons witch i get quite often and they could kill me in one breath if not for my block and heal stradagy then when they ground hack and slash(and anyone who has fought a elder dragon knows they hardly like to ground) . im even on the second easiest difficulty but yet they still own me. i dont have dragon rend yet witch will proberly help but it leaves me with a question that if an orc warrior with full upgraded dragon amour and fully upgraded dedric sword/axe can get [censored] by an Elder then what chance has a light amour werer or even a mage got? (note that i am only levl 28 but i get up to atleast 3 elders whenever i go out to explore) i just think elder dragons occor too often witch really makes me not wanna play anymore since i know that out there as soon as i long on there is an elder dragon scoping the skys thinking "hmmm i feel like orc today, oh look hears one, svcks to be you buddie" *DEAD*

Yes dragon rend will solve all your problems. And despite what you may see others claiming about dragons one shot chewing on you at full health, that's a load of crap. I have in fact never been eaten, and it only triggers at lowish health. (Unless you have like only 100-200 health, which you shouldn't anyway.) I play on Elite, and dragons are easy as hell with either daedric/bone armor. (The ancient dragons can put a little hurt on at times.)

PS: Dragons are actually a decent challenge at times on master difficulty, but then you run into bandits/mages that are using the console commands.

If you are playing on console the resistances are currently broken so higher level dragons can [censored] you no matter what

You couldn't be more wrong. This happened to my mage just the other day in fact.

I have to say the Elder Dragons seem to be a bit of a leap. Blood and Frost Dragons weren't really threatening at all, but an Elder Dragon takes me out in two tail whips, really quite annoying.

Start complaining once you see Ancient Dragons. These can cause a problem even for my OP character when I don't pay attention.

I thought dragons in this game are way too easy all together, elder dragons are quite a bit harder than blood dragons but no matter what dragon you fight it's always the same pattern and is really easy.

Hide behind structures and spam arrows while it's airborn, once it lands let it breath fire/ice or stun it with a shout then hack the crap out of it and shieldbash it's face when it's attacking.. repeat..

With that tactic I never had a problem with any dragon encountered in the game..

Ancient Dragons + patch 1.2 no resist = Fubar. The reason I still play on 1.04

I dont have any issue with Elder Dragons, even on Master. But Ancient Dragons... They annihilate me if im not fast enough, and i play dual wielding elemental fury with 55% magic res. level 46.

I dont know if it is just me, but Ancient Dragons and Dremora Valkynaz if u are atleast level 45, are tougher then Alduin on Master imo.

Enchant your weapons with absorb health. Every character I make has an absorb health/paralyze and absorb health/capture soul weapon. I do the f*cking with that setup lol.

So how many health points did you have then? I had >300 and it still ate me straight away.

Its all math really.

For their breath you will need spellbreaker shield. that will take care of the breath as long as you block when they spray.

Get 567 armor which equals 80% damage resist.

Only take health on level up. I currently have 800 health. which makes ancient dragon bites seem like bug bites instead.

Get elemental fury / dragon rend and slay every dragon that comes your way.
