I got a friend with the same problem. She mutes the game when encountering spiders since the music and sounds add alot to the suspense/tension. It helps her, so try that.

It ain't all about arachnophobia. I ain't got it, yet the spiders in Skyrim scare the heck outta me.

Why the heck would the Draugr simply let spiders live in their burial tombs, though? They don't even let us be there, and some of us are the same race.

Grow some. Seriously. I'm deathly afraid of spiders. If there is the tiniest spider in my room I will leave and not come back until someone goes in first, finds it, kills it, and shows me the body. I've not entered my room for two days before just because there was a little jumping spider in it. I can play this game and lick the screen when fighting spiders, they just aren't real.

I want a mod that makes the spiders actually crawl out of pitch black holes in the floor/walls/ceiling. (There are ceiling ones already, but the animation svcks.) Also they need to act more ambush like. Leaping from distances, and having partial invisibility in shadows. They also need to shreek when they pounce from the shadows. On top of all that, have some shoot webs at you that slows you down AND actually adds stacking web decals onto the player's vision so you can see less and less.

PS: More ideas, have their venom cause paralysis after a set amount of time. (Say 10 seconds after application.) And last 5-10seconds unless resisted. Man, I really should make this a mod myself and have these be new kinds of giant spiders, if only I could do 3d modeling, reskinning the current ones wouldn't do it justice.

So we shouldn't be afraid of spiders in the game that actually do something against you(in-game, of course), but it's totally fine that you're deathly afraid of tiny spiders not going to do shizz against ye? Hmmm...

i'm with you op. THey give me the creeps.

I find it funny that people have no problem seeing undead bodies, skeletons, giant rats, dragons.... the list goes on. But oh no! Here comes a spider! lol

Hell, If I walked outside right now and a giant cat said "whats up?" to me I think I would have a heart attack and die on the spot.
