dark brotherhood lair (maybe spoiler)

Post » Sat Dec 17, 2011 3:03 am

so i was left with no other choice to clean out the dark brotherhood lair when i first killed the leader at the wooden hut. (who are they to think they can hold me captive and make me kill somebody i dont know...bastards)

anyway, i finally went to dark brotherhood lair to finish the job. i was greatly disappointed by the dungeon. i was expecting hidden traps, unique weapons, secret doors, ninja training grounds etc etc. instead it's just a normal dungeon with 4 or 5 npc's. so there were only 5 dark brotherhood members left in whole skyrim? where did they stash all the poison?

i know bethesda has just been using generic items for all skyrim. but some factions clearly would have deserved some style. damn, i wish i were chief game designer at bethesda.

anybody feel the same bout the dark brotherhood lair?

They were the last five members... Apart from the hundreds they send after you, but I assume that that was their first mission.

They actually ARE the last few members... in all of Tamriel, apparently.

And since you have the option of joining them, trapping the entire sanctuary might be seen as antisocial to new joining members and somesuch.

You also missed the chance to meet the... fruitiest member of the DB. =) In another playthrough, perhaps?

Ehh everything about the DB kind of svcks in Skyrim, especially compared to Oblivion.

Hopefully it's done properly with DLC. I'd happily pay for a well done DB.

I dont think you get the idea here. The DB lair was suppose to be an area where you get quests and carry out jobs. If you chose to kill them instead well that was your choice, its just their living quarters, not a dungeon.

I don't think you get it...the Dark Brotherhood is basically dead when you join/destroy it.

No, there are few memebers still alive after you "cleared" their sanctuary.
Mainly the "kid", the Keeper and the thing the keeper has to keep ... (do the DB quests to find out what i am talking of, i don't wanna spoil).
More than enough to restart from scratch in a new sanctuary, somewhere else.

There werent any traps in the DB sanctuary in oblivion; i mean its a sanctuary, not some..vault. How annoying would it be if they had to sneak pass those traps everytime they went in or out?

If you look at the story of the current Dark brotherhood, which is revealed during the first missions for them, you will get an explanation on why the guild is in such a shape.

You already did that. Don't play innocent! http://images.wikia.com/elderscrolls/images/3/31/Dark_Brotherhood_Note.jpg

About the lair, it needs to be small so it can be hidden well. As for the members, that's the last active sanctuary they have, that doesn't mean they are limited to 5 members.

I was first thrilled that it was actually possible to kill that chick in the hut, and get the quest "Destroy the dark brotherhood" but yes, I agree it was too quick and easy. Just like clearing a random cave with bandits, and then it was over. And the only reward is some imperial dude telling you thanks and how he will tell the Emperor himself about me.

Spoiler
...and keeps on saying the same thing even after I just came back from taking over Solitude and purging out the imperials with Ulfrik :)

That's the sort of "immersion breakers" that I really don't like.

Play as good guy = lose access to game content
Play as bad guy = have access to all game content

Playing as a bad guy should have you lose access to some content.

Rather both should gain and deny access to some content.
