One thing I would have LOVE to have seen in the game

More Racial incorporation into the Transformation. Like if You were an Argonian or an Orc, Your Werewolf form would be unique to your Racial background.

Perhaps it wouldn't be as exciting for say an Imperial, but can You imagine a Reptilian Werewolf?!.

That sh!t'd be awesome.

I think it would've been better if lycanthropy wasn't included in Skyrim and was completely retconned out of existence in TES.

But hey, that's how opinions work, you know?

I dislike the fact you can change whenever you want to
and more importantly that you never have to change

to me the most interesting part about werewolves is that they have no control over it
I get that werewolves are treated different in the TES universe than in more traditional stories
but the fact that you have this inner beast wanting to come out and wreak havoc is the most interesting part and removing it makes them kind of docile creatures

would be nice like once a month you change into a werewolf and have no control over it's actions
perhaps even no recollection of them
like you just black out and when you wake up you've murdered half a city

could even do a quest where you have to search for the murderer and it turns out to be you

and that's all just of the top of my head, and IMO 10 times more interesting than how it's done now

Play Daggerfall, become a lycanthrope, don't get Hircine's Ring. Enjoy the dangerous life of the werebeast.

Maybe you're forced to change at midnight if both moons are full? I'm not sure how TES lunar cycle works but that would be once a month if I had to guess. Whether you're sleeping in bed or out questing.....you just change.

A 2nd reason to keep an eye to the skies.

Anyway, I like to have the power on hand. I like to use it to kill Thalmor along the roads. Make it seem like Skyrim herself hates their presence...

I think they did it because everyone would be moaning if you were on a quest then you suddenly changed without warning. You could always RP and change when every you want, using what folk tales you want to use regarding werewolves. But back the OP a reptilian werewolf would be awesome.

Khajiit = Were-lion
Argonian = Were-croc (looks like a Daedroth)
Orc = Were-ogre
Imperial, Nord, Breton, Redguard = Werewolf
Dunmer = Were-troll
Bosmer = Were-Ewok
Altmer = Were-Horker (because Altmer are lame)
